Meet the Flower Chair – for Moments That Matter

The Victoria Florists Flower Chair started life as an ordinary garden chair. You know the sort, a classic wallflower that disappears into the background. But holy schmoly, have we zhuzhed her up or what?!

Like all good renovation stories, the Flower Chair came to Victoria Florists in a sorry state. Bordering on broken, we tinkered and toiled, slowly bringing the old girl back to life until it was time for paint… and that’s when the fun began!

Round One started with a tradie, a one-eyed Cantabrian who was painting our shop. He took to the Flower Chair with the gusto of a Crusaders front-rower, technically perfect in red and black, but missing the razzle-dazzle of the back line.

By this stage, it was summer, and owner Leanne Lovell poured herself a long gin, invited the girls round and picked up a paintbrush. The Flower Chair slowly blossomed, a by-product of laughter, friendship and those long Canterbury evenings we all know and love.

Today, the Flower Chair takes pride of place on the veranda at Victoria Florists, the perfect place to stop and smell the roses.

Competition Dates

Entries open on 5 August 2026 and close at 11:59pm on 16 September 2026.

The winner will be drawn and announced on 21 September 2026.

Terms & Conditions

  1. Entry is open to residents of the Christchurch area who are able to visit Victoria Florists and collect their prize in person.
  2. To enter, participants must complete all entry requirements listed on this page.
  3. Entrants must have a public social media post visible at the time of judging so entries can be verified.
  4. Multiple entries are permitted; however, each entry must be a unique photo and post.
  5. Entries must be submitted before 11:59pm on 16 September 2026.
  6. The winner will be selected by random electronic draw from all eligible entries.
  7. The winner will be contacted via social media and/or other available contact details.
  8. The winner must be available to collect their prize from Victoria Florists on 21 September 2026 and agree to a winner’s photograph being taken with Victoria Florists owner Leanne Lovell for promotional purposes.
  9. If the winner cannot be contacted, does not respond within a reasonable timeframe, or is unable to collect the prize on September 2026, Victoria Florists reserves the right to redraw the prize.
  10. The People’s Choice Prize will be awarded to the eligible entry with the highest number of likes at the close of the competition.
  11. The prize is not transferable, exchangeable or redeemable for any other product or service.
  12. Employees of Victoria Florists and their immediate families are not eligible to enter.
  13. Victoria Florists reserves the right to remove entries that are offensive, inappropriate or do not meet the competition requirements.
  14. By entering, participants grant Victoria Florists permission to repost, share and use submitted photos for promotional and marketing purposes.
  15. The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
